Our LifeGroups are by principle OPEN groups. This means new people are not only allowed to join them, but they are expected to join them and the groups are waiting and looking for new people all the time. So please don't feel shy - you are wanted and loved even before you ask to join.

When you join a LifeGroup you are joining a small community of people from all walks of life and faith. You should find yourself gently welcomed and loved, not swamped and overwhelmed.

Different LifeGroups have slightly different ways in which they meet and ways of organising and structuring themselves. All of them adhere to the simple pattern of In-Out-Up for their structure.

Join a LifeGroup if...

You should consider joining a LifeGroup if any of the following apply to you:

  • New to church If you're new to St Thomas' then you might find things a bit daunting. Joining a LifeGroup will help you make friends quickly and settle into being part of the church family straight away.
  • New to Christianity If you're new to the faith then joining a LifeGroup will help you connect with other folk in a similar stage to you as well as being surrounded by old hands who can help and guide you. You'll meet with other Christians week by week which will help you to grow spiritually as you pray, worship, and study God's word together.
  • Looking to go deeper If you're an experienced Christian and wanting to put your faith into practice and continue to grow deeper then LifeGroups will help you do that too, as well as putting you into a setting where your faith can be put into practice, turning head knowledge and experience into practical work for God's kingdom.
