Sunday Services

Which Sunday of the month is it? 1st Sunday? 2nd Sunday? 3rd Sunday? 4th Sunday? ...or the rare and wonderful 5th Sunday?

Please note - during Christmas and Easter the pattern of services in the month may change! Please check the Upcoming Events box on the right for up to date info!

Sundays at St Thomas' are great times. They're the one time in the week when we draw together the whole family - children, parents, grandparents, single people, married couples, the happy, the bereaved, the fit and the not so fit - all of us from every walk of life and every stage of life to worship God together! No matter who you are, you are just like us and God loves you more than you'll ever be able to comprehend. So come along one Sunday to find out a bit more about who we are, who you are, and who God is!

We offer a wide range of services throughout each month. It can be a bit complicated, but you simply need to know that you are welcome at ANYTHING at ANYTIME! You'll find some services might suit you and your family slightly better than others, but all of them are fairly informal, relaxed, friendly and real! Come and see for yourself!

1st Sunday of the month8.45am Holy Communion Our first Sunday in each month begins with an 8.45am Communion service. This service uses the Church of England's Common Worship liturgy, a few songs and a short talk to draw us closer to God in a fairly quiet and straightforward manner. Some people choose to come to this service first to receive Communion before continuing on to the 10.30am service.

10.30am Morning Worship with Sunday Groups & Parade by our uniformed organisations. At this type of service our focus is on lively worship and Bible teaching which really connects with real life and with the real God. The children stay with us for the first 20-30 minutes so we can worship God together as a whole family, but then they go off to Sunday Groups designed especially for them, while the grown-ups stay together for a more grown-up focussed time of teaching, worship and prayer.

There is no evening service on the first Sunday.

2nd Sunday of the month10.30am Morning Worship & Sunday Groups. Modern worship, engaging teaching and groups for the children to enjoy, ending in more fellowship and chat over a tea or coffee and a biscuit (or three if you're the vicar!)

4.00pm theHub
Our monthly service for families is a fantastic time of fun for everyone. theHub is unlike church as you might think of it, but for us is a very important part of what we do. Check out theHub page for more info of what goes on. If you're a family and you've not been to theHub then you're missing out big time!

3rd Sunday of the month10.30am Holy Communion & Sunday Groups. Jesus told us to remember His sacrifice on the cross by sharing bread and wine together...so we do! Expect more lively worship, engaging teaching and a very warm welcome.

6.30pm Evening Prayer A small and quiet evening service, led through using the Evening Prayer liturgy from the Church of England's Common Worship. A brief talk and no singing.

4th Sunday of the month10.30am Morning Worship & Sunday Groups Modern worship, engaging teaching and groups for the children to enjoy, ending in more fellowship and chat over a tea or coffee and a biscuit (or three if you're the vicar!)

6.30pm Soul Space A very creative and reflective time of prayer, silence, led meditation, music, ... anything really which helps to focus on God in a simple and personal way. Soul Space services are very special moments in the midst of a busy life. Come and be refreshed.

5th Sunday of the monthIt's not that often that we get a 5th Sunday in the month, but when we do this is what you might expect:

10.30am Morning Worship (No Sunday Groups) Our usual blend of lively worship and good biblical teaching for real lives in the real world, followed by tea, coffee and fellowship for all.

6.30pm Cafe Service Whenever a 5th Sunday happens the 3 Aldridge churches come together for a shared service in a cafe style format. Expect to be sitting around a table, with something to eat, something to drink ... and a lot to entertain, engage, captivate and stimulate! Discussion is encouraged ... as is having relaxed fun and fellowship together. Come and see for yourself.
